I'm almost there!

Dear Friends and Family,

God is so very good! In our little minds we cannot rap our brains around details and timing. It seems like since I said Yes God, I will go, he has said I've got everything taken care of. Coming home from India I knew the tasks ahead of me was huge and I knew I had about a 1000 unanswered questions. I have been sitting back and saying, God, you said you want me there, then you need to take care of the details. 6 days after getting back I was told the task of raising the funds that are necessary to go to India in 8 weeks is nearly Impossible, and the missionaries spend years trying to raise the funds to go to the field long term. Let's just say that My God is a very big God, and if this was something that I was trying to accomplish then, yes this is a near impossible task. If this is truly of God, then getting me to India in 8 weeks is a small and simple task for my Big God. Let me now explain my last 5 Weeks, and how Big Jehovah Jireh is.

I had a meeting at New Life church 6 days after returning from India making it known that God has call me to India, and was told this may or may not happen in January because of funding concerns. On Monday December 10th I called a OMT, a company that provided software to The River (radio station that I worked for) and just let them know I was no longer at the river and to let them know I was heading to India to do Missionary work. They were beside themselves excited that I was going to India because they are starting a campaign in 2008 to sell their software to radio stations throughout India, and that may have contract work for me to do in India if I was going to be in India. The conversation went from I'm going to India, to OMT may be willing to pay for all expenses to get me and my things to India if I would be willing to do the work. This is not in stone yet, but since that phone call there has been many conversations leading me to think that this is going to be a reality. Please pray that comes through, because not only will this pay all my upfront expenses to get to India, but I will have an income while I am there so I should not need to rely on supporters in the US to support me much past the first few months. WOW!

I needed a laptop to do some of the video editing and production that I will be doing in India, and Pyrinex, a hardware provider in Columbus, gave me a high end laptop and said that I can pay it off whenever I can, so I did not need to shell out $900 until I am established in India By the way, they sold me the Laptop at their cost to help me out :). I needed a camera for the work and my friend Ray sold me a professional canon camera at $175. This camera was over a thousand dollar camera when it was new a few years ago. Those two items I believe were gifts from God.

This brings us to this past weekend, but let me explain my expenses first. There are several expenses that need to be taken care of before I leave. First The plane ticket ($1500), Second my car needs to be sold (I need $16,500 to pay off loan) third my apartment lease buyout ($1400), fourth shipping expenses ($1000ish) then about $900 to $1200 monthly for living expenses and remaining debt here in the US totaling $20,400 in upfront costs and then the monthly needs after that. Last week I got an mail from Jennifer Mason saying some friends of hers was interested in the car. Saturday morning they came out and bought the car! $16,500 down $3900 to go. That morning the couple that bought the car took about 5 minutes to decided to buy the car, then we talked India for the next 20 minutes. After hearing about what God is doing in my life and in India, they said that they wanted to give me more than the $16,500. Praise God right, I found out later that they were going to give me the full $18,000 that I was hoping to get for the car, and by the way they are allowing me to use the car until I leave for Chennai! That is an extra $1500, which is the exact price for the plane ticket, so we can check off the plane ticket off the list and we are down to $2400 dollars left. Saturday night and Sunday New Life church announced to the church body that I am leaving for India and letting them know what I will be doing while I am there. They also said that if you would like to give to Bob, he will be in the lobby. I am overwhelmed with the amount of people that said that they were behind me and will be praying for me. God blessed me with $1375 from the generous people that came up to me and said that they are behind me. I also could not begin to tell you the number of people that asked for the address to send money to support me either as a onetime gift or on a monthly basis, so who knows how much more that dollar amount will praise God. Subtracting the $1375 from my running total and I am now down to $1025 needed in order to get to India. The $1375 took care of all but 25$ of the apartment buyout! Shipping my personal items is last on the list and that is a want and not a need, so I am financially ready now to leave for India!!!!!!

The plane ticket was bought today and I am officially leaving for India on Thursday January 31st at 1:30pm. For all the nay sayers that this could not be done, God IS BIG ENOUGH! He took care of nearly $20,000 in 2 days, and if the contract work In India comes through, that will take care of my needs while I’m in India! WOW! That work, by the way, will be schedulable so I will still be able to devote as much time that is needed to HBI that I need to and still accomplish the work OMT will want me to do. I can’t wait to see what God does next. By the way, I mentioned the Gods timing at the beginning of this update I will share that in the next few weeks.
